Panthers Drop Home Game 79-70 to Oglethorpe

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team closed out the first half of its conference season with a 79-70 loss to Oglethorpe University Sunday afternoon.  BSC (9-9) moved to 3-4 in Southern Athletic Association play with the loss.

 

Elizabeth Philpot (Birmingham, Ala./Spain Park HS) led all Panthers with 19 points.  She went 9-for-11 from the free throw line.  Emilee Olsen (Marietta, Ga./Lassiter HS)  picked up another double-double.  She led with a team-high 12 rebounds and finished with 13 points.  Misa Fujii (Sunnyvale, Calif./Notre Dame) rounded out the Panthers in double-figures.  She earned 12 points of her own, respectively.

 

BSC hits the road next where they will start the second half of conference play.  The Panthers face Berry College on Friday, Jan. 26 and then Oglethorpe again on Sunday, Jan. 28.
