Panthers Upend Centre 64-48; Olsen Sets Program Blocks Record

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team consistently outplayed Centre College Friday night in Bill Battle Coliseum as the Panthers earned the 64-48 win.  BSC (10-11) moved to 4-6 against Southern Athletic Association opponents with the win.

 

Emilee Olsen (Marietta, Ga./Lassiter HS)  was stellar defensively, knocking down a program record nine shots.  She also led all scorers with a game-high 20 points.

 

Elizabeth Philpot (Birmingham, Ala./Spain Park HS) and Christian McGowan (Birmingham, Ala./Oak Mountain HS) also finished in double-figures.  Philpot earned a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.  And McGowan finished with 16 points of her own, respectively.

 

BSC will face Sewanee on Sunday, Feb. 4 in its final home game of the season.  Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.
