BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern women's basketball broke out of its skid with a 73-59 win over Southern Athletic Association rival Berry College Sunday afternoon in Bill Battle Coliseum. BSC (4-10, 1-2 SAA) outscored the Vikings 21-7 in the third to help secure the win.
Three Panthers finished in double-figures led by Emilee Olsen (Marietta, Ga./Lassiter HS). She earned a team-high 15 points and game-high three blocks. Leah Middleton (Decatur, Ga./St. Pius X HS) and Misa Fujii (Sunnyvale, Calif./Notre Dame) had 11 points each, respectively. Middleton tied Christian McGowan (Birmingham, Ala./Oak Mountain HS) and Kaitlin Hogan (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia Hills HS) with a team-high six rebounds.
BSC hits the road next. The Panthers travel to Memphis, Tenn. on Friday, Jan. 11 to take on Rhodes College. They then head to Conway, Ark. to face Hendrix College on Sunday, Jan. 13.
