BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The first round of the 2009 Ann Rhoads Invitational has been completed at the Timberline Golf Course in Calera. Birmingham-Southern’s women finished their round yesterday and find themselves in fourth place in the Black Division.
Samford University is in first place after one round with a combined 311 (27-over), Indiana State University and Jackson State University are in second with 326 (42-over), BSC sits in fourth with 327 (43-over), Evansville (336, +52), Butler (339, +55), and Presbyterian College (342, +58) round out the field.
#Brittany Henderson# posted the best day for the Panthers, she shot a 76 on the day (5-over). Henderson is tied for second with Samford’s Sarah Hunt three strokes behind Merielle LeBlanc of Jackson State.
#Jordan Hardy# is currently in a tie for sixth overall with Butler’s Allison Lipps, the pair shot a 78 (+7).
In the Gold Division Barry College finished atop the team standings. The Vikings shot a combined 323 (39-over), St. Leo University is in second with 326 (+42), Montevallo is third with 328 (+44), West Florida (334, +50), Shorter College (338, +54), Anderson College (342, +58), West Georgia (345, +61), Spring Hill (351, +67), Mobile (354, +70), Lee (369, +85), and Huntingdon (425, +141) round out the field.
Round two continues today. Both divisions will wrap up play this evening. Results will be reported as soon as they are available.
