Samford wins Ann Rhoads Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford Bulldogs finished atop the leader board in the 2009 Ann Rhoads Invitational hosted by Birmingham-Southern College at the Timberline Golf Course in Calera.

Samford finished with a combined 603 (35-over), Jackson State University finished second with 643 (75-over), Indiana State University placed third with 652 (84-over) and BSC finished in fourth with 657 (89-over), Evansville (662, +94), Butler (664, +96), and Presbyterian College (670, +102) round out the field.

#Jordan Hardy# posted two steady rounds for the Panthers (78 each round) and finished 14-over par in sixth place individually.  #Brittany Henderson# tied Hardy for a 152 complete score at 14-over for sixth place as well.

Samford’s Heather Arnold finished five-over at 147 for the tournament finishing in first place overall.

St. Leo University lept over Berry College to take first in the Gold Division with a 645 combined score (+77), Berry closed in second with 648 (+80).  West Florida jumped Montevallo to finish in third at 649 (+81), Montevallo finished with 658 (+90).  Shorter College (662, +94), West Georgia (669, +101), Anderson University (672, +104), Spring Hill College (705, +137), Mobile (712, +144), Lee (731, +163), and Huntingdon College (852, +284) round out the Gold field.
