Women's golf climbs to finish Berry Invitational in ninth place

COOSA, Ga. - The Birmingham-Southern women's golf team improved on their day one performance to finish the Berry College Invitational in ninth place.

The Panthers bettered their round one performance by 21 strokes to finish in the ninth spot in the team competition.

#Ashley Lovell# shaved 12 strokes off her round one total to post an 80 for the round, finishing the tournament in a tie for 26th overall.

#Michelle Morris# and #Jennifer Commander# wound up tied for 41st after posting an 89 and 88 respectively.

Shorter College built on their round one lead to finish the tournament in first place, shooting 634 over the two rounds.

The Panthers will return to the links this weekend as they travel over to Jekyll Island, Ga. for the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational hosted by Oglethorpe University.  The opening round is slated to begin on Friday and conclude on Sunday.
