Women's Golf in second at Jekyll Island Invitational

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga.—The Birmingham-Southern women's golf team is tied for second place in the 21-team field after one round of play at the Jekyll Island Invitational, hosted by Oglethorpe University in Jekyll Island, Ga.

The Panthers, who are tied with Southwestern University, shot 323 today, just one strike behind leader Centre College and ahead of defending national champion Methodist University, who is in fourth.

Freshman Ellen Chun is in 10th place overall and led BSC with a 79 today, followed by senior Ashley Lovell with 80, junior Michelle Morris and freshman Kaleigh Toole with 82, and freshman Katie Skeeles with 85.
