TUNICA, Miss.—With two rounds in the books at the SCAC Women's Golf Championship at The Links at Cottonwoods in Tunica, Miss., Birmingham-Southern remains in second place after another day of four Panthers placing in the top 10.
The consistency for BSC, on a day in which every team scored higher that the team score posted in round one, led to a score of 328 on the day and 654 for the tournament. The Panthers are still chasing Centre College as they shot a team score of 322 to move to 61-over for the tournament.
Senior Jennifer Commander and junior Michelle Morris are leading the team as both have an identical two-round score of 163. Morris' 81 led the team on the day. Not far behind in seventh is sophomore Rachelle Struthers with a tournament score of 164. Rounding out the Panthers in the top ten for the tournament is sophomore Kaleigh Toole in eight place with 165. Centre's Emily Bachert tied the lowest score of the day with a 77, which was good enough to give her the overnight lead in the individual standings heading into the final round.
The final round will tee off tomorrow morning.
