No. 18 Women's Golf in third after first round of SAA Championship

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--Playing at Highland Lake Golf Course in Birmingham, the No. 18 Birmingham-Southern women's golf team is in third place after the first round of the Southern Athletic Association Championship.

The Panthers carded a team total of 325, just two strokes behind second-place Rhodes and 10 strokes back from No. 8 Centre with 315.

Sophomore Jesse Lawley leads BSC and is tied for first place with Centre's Allison Hancock and Millsaps' Lauren Durbin after shooting 76 today.

Sewanee's Emily Javadi and Rhodes' Mary Reed rounded out the top five, with both shooting 77.

Play continues tomorrow with round two of three. First tee time is set for 8 a.m.
