Women's Golf finishes 12th in the nation at NCAA Championship
SANDESTIN, Fla.–The No. 18 Birmingham-Southern women's golf team shot 324 today, their lowest round of the tournament, to finish 12th at the 2013 NCAA Division III Championship, played at Baytowne Golf Club in Sandestin, Fla.
Freshman Sarah Dolmovich was the top finisher for the Panthers after shooting 74 today for a four-round total of 325 (87-84-80-74), placing her tied for 38th in the final standings. Sophomore Jesse Lawley finished 52nd with 332 (78-88-81-85), followed by junior Kaleigh Toole at 70th with 339 (87-87-84-81), junior Rachele Struthers at 77th with 345 (92-89-80-84), and senior Michelle Morris at 91st with 352 (90-84-91-87).
The Panthers posted a four-day total of 1,334. Mary Hardin-Baylor hung onto their lead to win the national title, ending Methodist's 13-year reign as national champion and becoming only the second program to ever win the crown. MHBU shot 311 for the third straight day for a total of 1,239, followed by Texas Tyler with 1,247 and Methodist with 1,259.
UT Tyler's Laura Lindsey won the individual crown with 296 (72-72-77-75), followed by Kelsey Morrison from George Fox University with 300 (73-74-77-76) and MHBU's Taylor O'Rear with 301 (79-75-74-73).
