Women’s Lacrosse moves to 5-1 with 14-3 win against Pacific University

FOREST GROVE, Ore. –
Led by freshman Sarah Minick with six goals, the Birmingham-Southern women’s lacrosse team defeated Pacific University, 14-3, Tuesday evening in Forest Grove, Ore. The Panthers move to 5-1 on the season with the win.

BSC scored the first three goals of the game, but Pacific answered with two goals to cut it to 3-2 with 10 minutes left in the first half. The Panthers scored three more times in the following 10 minutes, however, to lead 6-2 at the half.

Pacific opened the second half with a goal, but it would be the last time the Boxers would score in the game. BSC proceeded to score eight straight after that for the 14-3 victory.

Minick led with six goals, while she and sophomore Lyndsay Griffin led with nine shots apiece. Griffin also scored four goals in the game. Freshman Stephanie Gore led with three ground balls and three draw controls; freshman Anna Barry also recorded three draw controls.

The Panthers are back in action tomorrow against Denison University in Forest Grove.
