BSC Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Centre, 14-5

DANVILLE, Ky. --  Centre College (2-2; 1-1 SAA) road the wave of a strong first half to earn a 14-5 Southern Athletic Association win over the Birmingham-Southern Women's Lacrosse team (2-3; 0-2 SAA) Friday the South Campus Complex.

Centre scored three goals during the first two minutes to take an early 3-0 lead before the Panthers got on the board on an Amanda Anderson goal with 26:03 left in the first half.

Centre scored four goals over the final 20 minutes of the first half to take an 8-1 lead to the locker room. Meg Hawthorne tallied two goals and Audrey Powers and Sarah Mastey had a goal apiece during the stretch.

The Colonels stretch the lead to 11-1 early in the second half before Madeline Golden scored the Panthers second goal at the 18:59 mark.

Golden would score her second goal of the night with 12:15 left in the contest and Logan Harris and Taylor Bates added BSC's final two goals in the last two minutes.

Whitney Smith led BSC with five ground balls while made 14 saves for BSC.

Mastey and Powers led the Colonels with three goals each while Mastey caused four turnovers.

Birmingham-Southern plays Carthage College on Saturday at a time to be announced.
