LaGRANGE, Ga.—Led by junior Amanda Amerson with six goals, the Birmingham-Southern women's lacrosse team won its third straight game Friday evening with an 11-5 victory against LaGrange.
BSC moved to 4-7, while LaGrange fell to 1-13.
LaGrange scored two quick goals to start the game before BSC scored four straight, three by Amerson, to take a 4-2 lead. Two more goals from LaGrange's Ashley Davis tied things up with 16:55 left in the first half, but BSC responded again, this time with two straight goals from freshman Natalie Daniel and another from Amerson for a 7-4 lead at the half.
BSC opened the second half with three more goals, two from sophomore Hannah Hudson and yet another by Amerson, putting the Panthers up 10-4. The teams then traded goals before the end of the game for a final of 11-5.
Amerson led all players with six goals and also had one assist, while Hudson added two goals and two assists and Daniel recorded three goals. Daniel also led with five draw controls. Freshman Chloe Massoni played all 60 minutes in goal and recorded eight saves.
The Panthers wrap up regular season play tomorrow at home, hosting league-leading and undefeated Sewanee at noon on Battle Field at Panther Stadium.
