Panthers drop 0-1 decision at Greensboro
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Birmingham-Southern women's soccer team lost the second game of their North Carolina trip this afternoon, 0-1 to Greensboro College. The loss drops BSC to 2-3-1 on the year, GC improved to 2-3-1.
Greensboro’s Tessa Hall scored the only goal of the match in the 25th minute to the far side from 18 yards out. The Panthers were never able to answer the goal with one of their own, this just a day removed from a five-goal day yesterday in Fayetteville. “We had plenty of opportunities,” said Coach Benji Watson, “we played well enough to win but their keeper had an outstanding match and we could never capitalize on our chances.”
BSC will travel to Texas in two weeks to take on UT-Dallas on September 26 and then they will open up SCAC play with a match at Austin College on the 28th. Game times are 4 and 2 pm CST.
