BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern (4-4-1) Panthers were shut-out at home tonight by the Colonels of Centre College (9-2-0), by a score of 1-0.
The game was an even match for the majority of the night, but the Colonels came up with the game-winner in the 66th minute off a goal from Allsion Terry. Although the Panthers tried furiosly in the closing minutes to even the score, they were not able to find the back of the net. It is only the fourth time that BSC has been held scoreless all year.
"Our girls played well tonight," said Coach Benji Walton, "we just weren't able to score any goals."
Erin Carter, Katherine Konker, and Lydia Rice all had solid games, but the Panthers managed just nine shots on the night. The defense was solid, holding Centre to just two shots on the night - including the winner from Terry.
BSC will return to action this Sunday as they host the DePauw University Tigers in a 2:00 p.m. match at BSC Soccer Park.
