Panthers drop 2-0 decision at Trinity

Box Score

SAN ANTONIO – The BSC (7-5-2) women’s soccer team traveled to Trinity University (10-3-1) on Friday in the first of two games in Texas this weekend, falling to the Tigers 2-0 in a hard-fought match.

The first half saw an evenly-matched game, with neither team able to get on the scoreboard.  The match went back-and-forth, with only 19 shots between the two teams, until the 80th-minute when Trinity finally broke the seal on the goals thanks to Alex Leamy’s game-winner; Biranna Young added the insurance goal in the final minute to close out the match.

Coach Benji Walton had this to say: “We played a good game. They are a very aggressive, talented group.  We didn’t play up to our tempo and it caught up with us in the end, but we have to regroup for Southwestern on Sunday and try and put this behind us.”

The Panthers will try to get back on the right side of the scoreboard this Sunday when they travel to Georgetown, Texas to take-on a different set of Tigers, this time, from Southwestern University.  Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.
