Panthers get overtime win over Sewanee, 1-0

SEWANEE, Tenn. -
The Birmingham-Southern women's soccer team got a 1-0 win over the Sewanee Tigers tonight three minutes into the first overtime period. 

The match remained even throughout, with the Panthers only edging the Tigers in shots, corners, and saves.  BSC got off 14 shots to Sewanee's 10, they had three corners and #Amber Hernandez# got four saves on the night.

The game-winning goal came 3:42 into the overtime period when #Linda Amaya# broke free for an unassisted goal. 

With the win, the Panthers improved to 5-4 on the season.  Their road trip will continue on Sunday as the Panthers head over to Atlanta to take on the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels in a 2:00 p.m. start.
