BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Junior Alicia Plotky has been selected as the SCAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for matches played from Monday, Oct. 25, through Sunday, Oct. 31, the league office announced today.
Plotky, a forward from Lawrenceville, Ga., was the Panthers' main offensive threat this past weekend as they shut out both Hendrix and Rhodes on the road, scoring two goals and recording an assist on the third goal in both games.
Against Hendrix, she had six shots, five of those on-goal, to lead the team. She also had a team-high six shots against Rhodes, this time with two on-goal.
"I am thrilled for Alicia, she had a tremendous weekend for us," Head Coach Benji Walton said. "To score four goals in two games in this conference is extremely difficult. She has been working tirelessly all season to find ways to finish and it has paid off for her. I hope she can keep this momentum going as I think it is some of the best soccer that she has played in her three years to date."
Plotky has now scored at least one goal in each of BSC's last four games, including the Panthers' only goal against seventh-ranked Trinity. In her last four games, all against conference opponents, she has tallied 14 points and now ranks in the top five in conference goals (10), assists (7), points (27), and shots (49).
Plotky and the Panthers are at home this weekend, hosting Oglethorpe on Friday at 6 p.m. and Sewanee on Sunday at noon, both at BSC Soccer Park.
