CONWAY, Ark.—The Birmingham-Southern women's soccer team defeated Hendrix College on the road
earlier this evening, 3-0. The Panthers move to 8-6 with the win, and stay on the road to face Rhodes College in Memphis on Sunday.
Junior Alicia Plotky scored two of BSC's goals, the first in the 35th minute on a header from a corner kick by freshman Amanda Babbin. Junior Linda Amaya scored five minutes later, off an assist from Plotky. Plotky then scored in the 48th minute, assisted by Amaya, to give the Panthers the 3-0 lead.
Freshmen Jordan Papas and Richelle Byrd split time in goal for BSC, with Papas starting and making three saves, and Byrd playing the second half and recording one save.
BSC out-shot Hendrix, 18-7, led by Plotky with six shots, five on-goal, and freshman Jamie Sullivan with five shots, all on-goal.
