Women's Soccer opens conference play with 1-0 win over Austin College

SHERMAN, Texas –
A goal by freshman Jamie Sullivan in the 67th minute gave the Birmingham-Southern women's soccer team a 1-0 victory over Austin College on the road, Friday, to open Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

The Panthers move to 4-2 with the win.

Junior Alicia Plotky led BSC with three shots, although the 'Roos out-shot the Panthers, 20-9. Freshman goalkeeper Richelle Byrd picked up her fourth shutout of the season in the net, making three saves.

BSC stays in Texas to face University of Dallas, Sunday at noon.
