BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern women's soccer team was shut out by No. 5 Emory University, 3-0, Friday evening at BSC Soccer Park.
The Panthers fall to 1-3-1 on the season.
The Eagles scored twice in the first half, first off a rebounded save and then on a header, and once in the second half. Lauren Gorodetsky, Kelly Costopoulos and Emily Feldman scored the three goals.
Senior BSC goalkeeper Amber Hernandez made five saves; Emory keepers Erica Stein and Kaele Leonard split time in goal and made one save each.
Emory out-shot BSC 23-7, 9-2 on-goal.
The Panthers are back at home on Monday evening, taking on Covenant College at 7 p.m.
