Plotky, Amaya named to NSCAA All-Region Teams

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Seniors Alicia Plotky and Linda Amaya have been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-South Atlantic Region Team, the organization announced today.

Amaya, a midfielder from Hattiesburg, Miss., and Plotky, a forward from Lawrenceville, Ga., were both named First-Team All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference this season. They finished the year with a team-high 22 points each, both with 9 goals and 4 assists.

Plotky made history earlier in the season when she became BSC's all-time points leader and the only player in program history to break the 100-point mark. She finishes her career with 114 points, 15 points ahead of the second and third place players. Plotky also finishes as the leading goal scorer with 45 as well as the most game-winning goals with 14.

Amaya finishes her career ranked seventh in points (73), sixth in goals (28), fourth in game-winning goals (9), and seventh in assists (17).

"This is a tremendous honor for Alicia and Linda," Head Coach Benji Walton said. "Their outstanding statistical seasons go without saying, but what is left out of the stats is the joy, passion, and love that these two played the game of soccer with. Their enthusiasm and energy not only produced goals and assists for our team, but it also set the bench mark for what is expected from a BSC Women's Soccer player. I am proud for these ladies, especially to achieve such a high honor their senior season, it truly caps off a great ending to their careers."
