BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Sophomore Jessie Sperry has been named Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week by the Southern Athletic Association, the league office announced today.
Sperry, a forward from Powder Springs, Ga., helped BSC go 2-1 this week with a road win against Covenant, a home loss to No. 10 Emory, and a home win against Agnes Scott. She had a goal in the 2-0 win over Covenant, and a hat trick and an assist in the 6-0 shutout of Agnes Scott. Her totals for the week were four goals, one assist, and eight shots, six of those on-goal. Her shot percentage was .500 and her SOG percentage was .750 for the three games.
The Panthers are on the road this weekend, traveling to face DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind., before opening SAA play at home on Oct. 5 against Rhodes at 4:30 p.m.
