Women's Soccer drops 3-0 decision to Centre on the road

DANVILLE, Ky.—The Birmingham-Southern women's soccer team dropped a Southern Athletic Association match to Centre, 3-0, Friday afternoon at Hillside Field in Danvile, Ky.

BSC is now 8-5-1 overall 2-3 in conference action. Centre improves to 10-5-1 on the season and 2-3 in league play.

Junior Avery Newcomb led the Panthers with two shots on goal and sophomore goalkeeper Ansley Tomlin tallied a season-high eight saves in the effort.

Centre took 20 shots compared to BSC's four, while the Panthers were penalized far less than the Colonels with only four fouls against 14 for the home team.

The Panthers look to improve their 3-3 road record Sunday against Sewanee at 12 p.m. in Sewanee, Tenn. BSC then returns home to Preston Goldfarb Field at Berylson Park to build upon their 5-1-1 home mark, hosting No. 19 Emory Oct. 28 at 7 p.m.
