No. 21 Emory shuts out BSC, 2-0

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Giving up a goal in each half, the Birmingham-Southern women's soccer team dropped its fourth straight game, losing 2-0 to No. 21 Emory Tuesday evening at Preston Goldfarb Field.

The Panthers fall to 8-7-1, while the Eagles improve to 9-1-5.

Both of Emory's goals came off the foot of Charlotte Butker, the first one courtesy of an assist from Jennifer Grant in the 24th minute, and the second off an assist from Cristina Ramirez in the 56th minute.

The Eagles out-shot BSC 22-8, including 9-4 on-goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Ansley Tomlin made six saves for the Panthers and took the loss.

BSC is at home again this Saturday, Nov. 1, for the regular season finale, hosting Southern Athletic Association foe Hendrix College at 2:30 p.m. It will be Senior Day for Devin McDonald, Catherine Sandon, and Chandler Wentz.
