Five Women's Soccer players earn All-Conference honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Five Birmingham-Southern women's soccer players received All-Southern Athletic Association honors, as voted by the league's head coaches, the conference office announced today.

Junior midfielders Sammy Manzo and Avery Newcomb, and junior forward Jessie Sperry were all voted to the Second Team, while junior midfielder Sarah Lombardi and sophomore forward Nicole Newton were named Honorable Mention All-SAA.

Sperry led the team this past season with 12 goals and 28 points, ranking fourth and fifth in the SAA in those categories respectively. Manzo was second on the team with 17 points, and both players had three game-winning goals each. Newton had 16 points, and Newcomb recorded 11.
