BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's soccer team is seeded fifth in the 2016 Southern Athletic Association Tournament and will face fourth seeded Berry College on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. ET on the road in Rome, Ga.
The Panthers (7-10, 3-4 SAA) played Berry at home back on October 16 this season. After battling Berry to a scoreless first half, the Vikings put in two quick goals in the second to earn the 2-0 win. BSC goalkeeper Libby Groark (Huntsville, Ala./St. John Paul II Catholic HS) record a career-high nine saves as the defense fended off 24 shots.
This marks the second consecutive year the Panthers have traveled to Berry in the quarterfinals. They lost 2-1 in 2015 after scoring the first goal of the match in the 22nd minute.
Berry (9-5-1, 4-2-1 SAA) is currently on a three-game win streak. They advanced to the conference semifinals last season, losing 4-0 to eventual champion and final four contender Centre College.
