MARION, Ala. – A goal and two assists from freshman Sydney Barrow helped propel Birmingham-Southern College to a 4-2 win over Judson College Tuesday night. The Panthers pick up their fifth road win of the season and are now 8-2 on the year.
The first goal of the game came in the 30th minute when Sydney Barrow (Birmingham, Ala./Indian Springs HS) ran onto a ball played from Megan Moser (Mandeville, La./St. Scholastica Catholic HS). The goal was Barrow's third of the season.
Judson College's Samantha Rowley leveled the game 12 minutes later after a miscommunication between two Panthers led to a well-played ball over junior goalkeeper Katherine Kozera (Rome, Ga./Rome HS).
The Panthers took the lead just 48 seconds into the second half when Barrow assisted Kendall Maynard's (Birmingham, Ala./Oak Mountain HS) first collegiate goal.
Judson's Rowley got her brace for the night on an indirect free kick inside the BSC 18 yard box.
It was all Panthers after that with Nicole Bernal (Odenville, Ala./John Carroll Catholic) scoring her second goal off another Barrow assist. That goal was followed by junior McKenna Boyd's (Versailles, Ky./Woodford County HS) second goal of the season, this time from a wonderful strike on a free kick.
Birmingham-Southern's next game is against conference opponent Rhodes College Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Preston Goldfarb Field.
