ATLANTA – Birmingham-Southern women's soccer forward Sydney Barrow is the Southern Athletic Association Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. It is the first SAA weekly honor for the freshman.
Sydney Barrow (Birmingham, Ala./Indian Springs HS) scored two goals and tacked on two assists in two wins for the Panthers this week, giving her four goals and four assists on the year. She is tied for second in the conference in total assists.
The five-foot-six forward scored one goal and picked up both of her assists in a 4-2 road win over Judson College on Tuesday. Barrow scored her second goal, the game-winner, in the 86th minute of a huge 1-0 home win over SAA foe Rhodes. The game-winning goal was the second of the year for Barrow.
Barrow's offensive support helped move the Panthers into a three-way tie for first place in the conference, as of Monday.
Barrow and the Panthers' next match will be at home against Wesleyan on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 6:00 P.M.
