Men's and Women's Tennis defeats Mississippi College in home finale

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -
In the last home match of the 2009 season, and the last match overall for the women, the Birmingham-Southern men's and women's tennis teams defeated Mississippi College, Tuesday, at the BSC Tennis Complex. The women won by the score of 8-1 to move to 12-2 on the season, and the men won 7-2 to move to 11-4.


On the women's side, #Kathryn Carroll# and #Lauren Russell# won at number one doubles, 9-7, and #Janie Asseff# and #Kate Lambert# won at the second doubles spot, 8-3, to finish the season at 14-1 as a pair. At the third doubles position, #Brittany Cooper# and #Carly Adams# won 8-1.

In singles, Carroll, Lambert, Asseff, Cooper, and #Katherine Jackson# were all victorious.

For the men, #Michael Locandro# and #John Crawford Freeman# won at top doubles, 8-5, #Matt Mabry# and #Faris Pacha# won at the second doubles spot, 9-7, and #Will Freeman# and #John Zukley# won at three doubles, 8-4.

In singles play, Locandro, #Richard Pearlman#, Zukley, and Mabry all notched wins.

The men wrap up the season on the road Thursday, April 9, at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Ga.
