Women's Tennis goes 3-0 at Rhodes Invitational

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -
The Birmingham-Southern women's tennis team had a productive weekend at the Rhodes College Invitational, defeating No. 29 Rhodes, 5-4, Millsaps College, 5-0, and Centre College, 9-0. The Panthers now stand at 11-2 on the season.

Against Rhodes, BSC won at one and two doubles, with #Kathryn Carroll# and #Lauren Russell# winning 8-4 and #Janie Asseff# and #Kate Lambert# winning by the same score. In singles play, Carroll, Lambert, and #Katherine Jackson# all picked up wins.

Against Millsaps, Carroll/Russell and Asseff/Lambert won again at one and two doubles, 8-1 and 8-2, and the Panthers won the third doubles contest by default, as well as two singles points. The other four singles games were not played.

Against Centre, BSC won at every position, with Carroll/Russell winning 8-6, Asseff/Lambert winning 8-2, and #Brittany Cooper# and #Carly Adams# winning 8-4 in doubles. Carroll, Lambert, Asseff, Cooper, Adams, and Jackson all picked up singles victories as well.

Asseff and Lambert now stand at 13-1 on the season in doubles play after their three wins this weekend.

The Panthers are at home tomorrow, April 7, for the season finale against Mississippi College at 2 p.m. at the BSC Tennis Complex.
