Women's Tennis falls to Millsaps in SCAC Championship play, 7-2
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark.—The Birmingham-Southern women's tennis team dropped its SCAC Championship match today to Millsaps, 7-2. Paced by victories in all three doubles matches, the fourth-seeded Millsaps Majors defeated the fifth-seeded Panthers.
Birmingham-Southern is now 10-8 on the season, while Millsaps improves to 16-4.
In singles competition, juniors Raeann Lamere and Payton Gartman won at singles two and six respectively to put the two Panther points on the board. Lamere won her match 6-2, 6-0, and Gartman brought home a victory with set scores of 6-4, 7-6 (7-4).
Conference tournament play continues for the Panthers tomorrow at the Burns Park Tennis Center as they face ninth-seeded Oglethorpe at 8 a.m.
