Women's Tennis defeats Oglethorpe, 6-3, in SCAC Tournament

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark.—The Birmingham-Southern women's tennis team downed Oglethorpe University, 6-3, this morning to earn a place in the fifth-place match tomorrow in the SCAC Women's Tennis Championship at the Burns Park Tennis Center in North Little Rock, Ark.

The fifth-seed Panthers move to 11-8 on the season, and will take on the seventh-seeded Colorado College Tigers tomorrow at 8 a.m.

Dominating performances paced the club as all but one of their victories came in straight sets, highlighted by junior Payton Garman's 6-0, 6-0, victory in singles and the doubles team of sophomores Moya Moore and Emily Holst notching the 8-0 win. In singles, junior Raeanne Lamere, sophomore Terria Punturo, and Holst earned wins, complemented by Lamere and Punturo's win in doubles.
