Women's Tennis gets commitment from Mary Evelyn Carroll

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.–Birmingham-Southern women's tennis coach Ann Dielen announced today that Mary Evelyn Carroll will join the squad next season, as she has completed her intent to enroll in the college and matriculate this fall.

Carroll, a senior at Madison Central High School in Madison, Miss., was a letterwinner under coaches Jim Ragsdale and Justyn Schelver. She is a 2013 Mississippi Tennis Association scholarship winner and a five-time district champion. Carroll has been ranked as high as third in the state and in the top 120 in the south.

Over the past five years, Carroll has been an individual state championship runner-up or semifinalist every year, and has helped the Jaguars to a team runner-up or semifinalist finish over the last three seasons.
