Men's, Women's Tennis down Huntingdon

MONTGOMERY, Ala.—Both the Birmingham-Southern tennis teams picked up road wins against Huntingdon today, with the women winning 5-4 and the men winning 7-2.

Both teams now stand at 2-0 on the season, and will travel to Atlanta next weekend for the Southern Shootout, hosted by Oglethorpe University.

On the women's side, senior Moya Moore and sophomore Sara Cohen picked up wins at one and two singles, and freshman Mary Evelyn Carroll and sophomore Lindsey Farrell won at four and five singles. Moore and Cohen combined at one doubles for another point.

In the men's match, the Panthers won all but one singles, and two of three doubles spots. Junior Brian Brandt, sophomore Patrick Hire, freshman Alex Makarenko, senior Tony DaMaia, and junior Ben Reardon were all singles winners, and Makarenko/Hire and Brandt/Reardon teamed up for the doubles victories.
