Women's Tennis blanks Point University, 9-0

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—After several postponements and cancellations due to weather, the Birmingham-Southern women's tennis team was finally able to open its season on Saturday, defeating Point University 9-0 at the Ann Dielen Tennis Complex.

The Panthers won all three doubles points by the score of 8-1, and had little trouble in singles play, either, giving up only six points in all six matches.

In doubles play, junior Sara Cohen teamed up with freshman Carlee Petro in the top spot, while junior Lindsey Farrell and Katie Scherer teamed up in the two spot. Sophomore Mary Evelyn Carroll and freshman Virginia Hammond won in the third position.

The Panthers are at home again this Monday, March 9, hosting Campbellsville at 1:45 p.m.
