Women's Tennis receives commitment from Mary Madison Taylor

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern women's tennis has received a commitment for the 2015-16 season from Mary Madison Taylor, who has completed her intent to enroll in the College, Head Coach Ann Dielen announced today.

Taylor is a senior at American Christian Academy in Tuscaloosa, Ala. She was ranked sixth in Alabama USTA junior tennis in 2014, and is currently the seventh-ranked tennis recruit in the state. Taylor won the 2011 AHSAA state championship in doubles as an eighth grader, and advanced to the semifinals of the AHSAA state tournament at one singles the past two years. She has also excelled in the classroom, maintaining a 4.0 grade point average, and she serves as President of the Student Government Association and Secretary of the Beta Club, and is a member of the National Honor Society. Taylor is an All-American UCA cheerleader and was second runner-up for Tuscaloosa County Distinguished Young Woman. Taylor is the daughter of Rafe and Cynthia Taylor, and has three siblings.
