Tennis teams ranked in fall regional rankings

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—In the first regional rankings of the fall season, the Birmingham-Southern men's and women's tennis teams were ranked 14th and 15th respectively by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

Additionally, the women's doubles pair of senior Sara Cohen and sophomore Carlee Petro were ranked 10th in the Atlantic South region.

"Both teams had a great fall season," Head Women's Tennis Coach Ann Dielen said. "We feel really confident and excited about our upcoming spring schedule as well. We've got a lot of great players returning to the program as well as a few talented new faces."

The Panthers had outstanding showings this past spring, with the men going 11-3 and the women 10-3. Both teams open the 2016 season on Jan. 30, with the women playing an exhibition match against Snead State at home, and the men facing Spring Hill and Mobile at The Country Club of Mobile in Mobile, Ala.
