ORLANDO, Fla.—The Birmingham-Southern women's tennis team split on Wednesday in its final day of competition in Orlando, Fla., defeating Whitworth, 7-2, but falling to No. 27 Hope College by the same score at Lake Kane Tennis Center.
The Panthers now stand at 8-3 on the season, and are back in action on April 2, hosting Oglethorpe, and April 3, hosting Berry, both at 9 a.m. at the Ann Dielen Tennis Complex.
In the match against Whitworth, BSC won all three doubles matches and then won at the top four singles positions. Against 27th-ranked Hope, the Flying Dutch swept doubles play, and the Panthers won two points in singles, with sophomore Carlee Petro winning at No. 1 and freshman Isabella Wisener winning at No. 2.
