Volleyball adds two for 2009

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern volleyball team has added two players for the upcoming 2009 season in Presley Dickson and Lauren Reibe, who have completed their intent to enroll in the college and play for the Panthers this fall.

Dickson is a defensive specialist/libero out of Grissom High School in Huntsville, Ala., where she was named Best Defensive Player in 2006-07 and 2008-09, and received the Tiger Award in 2005-06 and 2006-07. Dickson was also named American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Honorable Mention All-City and All-State. She was a member of the National Honor Society, serving as President in 2009, as well as the National English Honor Society, serving as Vice President this year. Dickson was also a 2009 Principal Leadership Scholarship nominee.

Reibe is a setter from Daphne, Ala., out of Bayside Academy, where she served as team captain in 2008. She helped lead the Admirals to the 2008 3A state title, and the 2A state championships in 2005, 2006, and 2007. Along the way, Reibe earned All-State, 3A All-Tournament, All-Star Team, and Super 12 First-Team honors in 2008. In 2007, she was 2A State MVP, All-State, and Second-Team Super 12. Reibe was also a National Honor Society and Highest Honors member at GHS.
