Waters hired as Assistant Volleyball Coach

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. Former Birmingham-Southern volleyball player and current BSC Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance Kyndall Waters has been hired as BSC’s new Assistant Volleyball Coach, Pavlina Steffkova announced today.

Waters, a native of Homewood, Ala., has served as BSC’s Assistant AD and Compliance Director since June 2007 and manages compliance duties for all 21 of BSC’s sports. She also coordinates the Panthers’ marketing and promotions efforts as well as most athletic department events, ticket sales, and concessions. Waters will retain her current position and serve part-time as the volleyball program’s Assistant Coach.

Prior to her stint as Assistant AD that began last June, Waters served as BSC’s Director of Marketing for a year, and was the Assistant Director of Marketing for a year prior to that. During the 2005-06 season, she was BSC’s Athletic Intern.

Waters graduated with a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Birmingham-Southern in May 2005, and went on to earn her Master of Human Environmental Science with a concentration in Sport Management from The University of Alabama in August 2006.

As a player on the Hilltop, Waters, a setter, was a team captain all four seasons and broke almost every setting record in the books. She also earned Big South Conference All-Academic and Big South Presidential Honor Roll accolades, Strength and Conditioning All-American honors, and was the President and Co-Founder of BSC’s chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Additionally, Waters was a member of the Dean’s List, Mortar Board Honor Society, and Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society.

“I believe that Kyndall is the perfect fit for our program and our team,” Steffkova said. “As a former BSC volleyball player, Kyndall has taken a lot of pride in the success of our program. She will now be able to continue this success on the sidelines and help our players continue some of the traditions she herself started as a player. Kyndall's own experiences here at BSC will help with mentoring and guiding our student-athletes. I look forward to working with Kyndall and hope that together we can continue to make all of our student-athletes successful on and off the court.”
