Volleyball extends winning streak to 14 with sweeps of Hendrix and Sewanee

SEWANEE, Tenn. With 3-0 sweeps of Hendrix College and Sewanee, the Birmingham-Southern (25-7) volleyball team extended its winning streak to 14 matches, Sunday, in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference East/Central Divisional, hosted by Sewanee.

The Panthers defeated Hendrix by the scores of 25-8, 25-9, 25-13. Junior Caitlin Dees led with seven kills, junior Milica Stojanovic led with 13 assists, and sophomore Jennifer McKannan led with 11 digs.

In their final match of the weekend, the Panthers downed Sewanee by the scores of 25-12, 25-12, 25-13, led by junior Krisanne Calvert with 14 kills, sophomore Christine Denning with 36 assists, and junior Natasha Stark with 14 digs.

The Panthers wrap up the season on the road next weekend, traveling to Atlanta for the Emory National Challenge to face Lee University, Friday, Oct. 31 at 3:30 p.m. BSC then takes on No. 2 Emory and No. 1 Juniata, Saturday, Nov. 1 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
