Volleyball loses to No. 14 Southwestern, No. 12 Colorado College at SCAC West/Central Divisional

CONWAY, Ark. –
The Birmingham-Southern volleyball team dropped two matches today to No. 14 Southwestern University, 3-0, and No. 12 Colorado College, 3-1, at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference West/Central Divisional, hosted by Hendrix College in Conway, Ark.

The Panthers now stand at 9-9 on the season, and will face No. 15 Trinity University and Rhodes College tomorrow at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Southwestern won the match by the scores of 25-17, 25-21, 25-17. Sophomore #Hope Harris# led with 11 kills and also recorded 17 digs for a double-double, and junior #Christine Denning# led with 35 assists. Junior #Jennifer McKannan# led with 23 digs, and senior #Sarah Harris# was also in double digits with 12 digs. Freshman #Presley Dickson# led with two service aces.

Against Colorado College, the Panthers lost by the scores of 19-25, 15-25, 25-23, 28-30. Statistical leaders were Sarah Harris with 14 kills, Denning with 39 assists, McKannan with 20 digs, sophomore #Haley Johnson# with two blocks, and Sarah Harris and McKannan with three service aces apiece.

Heading into tomorrow's matches, Sarah Harris is now only three kills from becoming BSC's all-time career leader.
