Panthers split on day two of SCAC East/Central Divisional

DANVILLE, Ky. - The Birmingham-Southern volleyball team split again today on day two of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference East/Central Divisional No. 2, hosted by Centre College in Danville, Ky., falling to DePauw University, 3-1, but defeating Millsaps College, 3-2. The Panthers now stand at 14-15 on the season.

BSC lost to DePauw by the scores of 25-20, 25-15, 25-18. Senior #Sarah Harris# led with 12 kills, and junior #Christine Denning# led with 30 assists. Junior #Jennifer McKannan# also led with 14 digs and two service aces.

The Panthers went on to defeat Millsaps in a five-game thriller by the scores of 25-15, 21-25, 25-16, 22-25, 15-9. Harris led again with 21 digs as well as three service aces, Denning dished out 33 assists, and McKannan led with 19 digs. Freshman #Alexis Pappas# was also impressive at the net with seven blocks.

BSC is on the road again next weekend, traveling to Atlanta for the Emory Halloween Tournament, taking on Berry College and Randolph-Macon College on Friday, and LaGrange College and No. 4 Emory University on Saturday.
