ATLANTA – The Birmingham-Southern volleyball team split today at the Emory Halloween Tournament with a 3-0 victory against LaGrange College and a 3-1 loss to No. 4 Emory. The Panthers now stand at 15-18 on the season.
The scores of the match against LaGrange were 25-13, 25-14, 25-9. Senior Sarah Harris and freshman Shelby Moore led with 12 kills apiece, while junior Christine Denning recorded 24 assists and freshman Lauren Reibe posted 10. Sophomore Hope Harris led with 17 digs, followed by junior Jennifer McKannan with 15. Reibe and freshman Alessandra Norman also posted three service aces each.
In the match against Emory, BSC lost by the scores of 20-25, 21-25, 25-21, 19-25. Sarah Harris led again with 12 kills and posted a double-double with 10 digs, while Moore recorded 10 kills and Denning led with 32 assists. McKannan and Hope Harris led with 15 digs apiece.
BSC returns home for its final match of the season this Wednesday, Nov. 4, taking on Bryan College at 7 p.m. in Bill Battle Coliseum.
