Volleyball wraps up season with 3-0 win against Bryan College

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -
Led by senior Sarah Harris with a double-double (17 kills, 12 assists), the Birmingham-Southern volleyball team ended the season on a high note, defeating Bryan College, 3-0, Wednesday evening in Bill Battle Coliseum. The Panthers end the 2009 campaign with a record of 16-18, while the Lions fall to 21-13.

BSC won by the scores of 25-13, 25-20, 25-15. Harris led all players with her 17 kills, and junior Christine Denning led all players with 40 assists. Junior Jennifer McKannan led BSC with 15 digs, while Harris recorded 12, and McKannan also led with three service aces. Freshman Alexis Pappas led with three blocks.

Amber Smith led Bryan with 10 kills, Amanda Manke and Hannah Suits led with 12 and 11 assists, respectively, and Jessica Jones led with 15 digs.

Harris was honored in pregame festivities as the lone senior on this year's team. She ends her career as the all-time kills and digs leader at BSC.
