Volleyball splits at SCAC East/Central Crossover

ATLANTA—The Birmingham-Southern volleyball team split a pair of matches today at the SCAC East/Central Crossover, hosted by Oglethorpe University. The Panthers defeated Centre College, 3-1, but fell to DePauw University, also by the score of 3-1.

The Panthers move to 21-8 on the season.

Against Centre, freshman Alex Bothe led with 14 kills, followed by junior Hope Harris and sophomore Chelsea Pittman with 13 kills apiece. Senior Jennifer McKannan led with 28 digs, senior Christine Denning led with 49 assists, and freshman Sarassa Burrus had five blocks.

Against DePauw, Harris led with 12 kills, McKannan led with 29 digs, Denning led with 33 assists, and Burrus and sophomore Alexis Pappas each had three block assists.

BSC is in action again tomorrow with two more matches, facing Sewanee at 9 a.m. and Rhodes at 1 p.m. ET.
