Volleyball defeats Trinity, Rhodes

GEORGETOWN, Texas
—The Birmingham-Southern volleyball team picked up two wins today in Georgetown, Texas, at the SCAC West/Central Divisional, defeating perennial power Trinity University, 3-2, as well as Rhodes College, also 3-2. The Panthers move to 10-2 on the season with the two wins.

Against Trinity, freshman Alex Bothe led with 12 kills, senior Jennifer McKannan led with 31 digs, senior Christine Denning led with 37 assists and three service aces, and sophomore Shelby Moore led with five blocks.

Against Rhodes, Bothe and junior Hope Harris led with 12 kills apiece, Denning led with 45 assists, McKannan led with 34 digs, Bothe led with three service aces, and junior Alaina Smith led with four blocks.

The Panthers are on the road again this Tuesday, taking on Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, Tenn., at 7 p.m.
