BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern volleyball team won its sixth and seventh straight matches today with two more victories in the BSC Fall Classic, defeating Dillard University, 3-0, and Faulkner University, 3-1. The Panthers are now 15-2 on the season, their only losses to top-25 teams.
Senior setter Christine Denning, who was named to the All-Tournament team, was particularly impressive in the Panthers' win against Faulkner, putting together a rare triple-double with 10 kills, 46 assists, and 13 digs.
Senior Jennifer McKannan helped anchor the BSC defense with 19 digs against Dillard and 20 digs against Faulkner.
Against Dillard, freshman Alex Bothe, who was also named to the All-Tournament team, led with 11 kills and sophomore Lauren Reibe led with 19 assists. Denning also tallied 12 assists, and junior Hope Harris also added 11 digs.
Bothe and Harris led with 18 kills each against Faulkner, and Bothe recorded a double-double with 12 digs. Sophomore Presley Dickson also posted 17 digs, and junior Alaina Smith had six blocks.
Other All-Tournament selections were Wallace State's Skylar Key, UNO's Edina Dobi, Faulkner's Naysa Hernandez, and Loyola's Gina Gill.

The Panthers are back at home next weekend, hosting the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference East/Central Divisional, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 2 and 3.
