Volleyball drops two matches at Emory National Invitational

ATLANTA—The Birmingham-Southern volleyball team lost two matches on the road today at the Emory National Invitational, losing to Randolph-Macon College, 3-1, and No. 2 Emory, 3-0. The Panthers fall to 23-10 with the losses.
Against RMC, freshman Alex Bothe led with 11 kills, followed by junior Hope Harris with a double-double of 10 kills and 10 digs. Senior Christine Denning led with 40 assists, and senior Jennifer McKannan led with 37 digs. Denning, sophomore Alexis Pappas, and freshman Sarassa Burrus also recorded two blocks each, and Harris had four service aces.
Against the second-ranked Eagles, Harris led with eight kills, Denning had 10 assists, and McKannan had 14 digs. Bothe and Burrus also had two blocks apiece.
A box score was not immediately available for the match against Randolph-Macon.
The Panthers continue play tomorrow in the Invitational, taking on Washington & Lee at noon ET and Berry College at 2 p.m. ET.
